So you're an artist... and you're in the studio, ready to record your first take. So you put your notebook down and stand up to position yourself in front of the mic. Ever thought about just staying where you were and bringing the mic to you? Don't think you have to stand up to record! Try recording sitting down, or even laying down. The best position is usually whatever is comfortable and whatever will put you in the mood of what you're singing about. As long as the vocal booth can accommodate the repositioning of the mic, give it a shot. You'll be surprised at the vocal difference it will make! Happy recording.
