Here's a technique that works out real well if you are an artist on the grind... Before you release your CD, try to be on as many other records as possible... be featured here, there, everywhere. Don't worry about getting paid..this is your promotional tool. And usually you have to pay for promotion. Once all of these features get out there the people will start talking... "Who is that on the hook?" Or "who is that on the second verse, he just clowned!!" Once word of mouth creates a big buzz about you, thats when you release your own project. And walah! First week sales are through the roof..and you're on your way. Happy recording.
